When Tiffany Heidtbrink and her friends come together to play worship music, most of the musicians are playing traditional instruments like guitars and pianos.
Only a few weeks ago, Heidtbrink, a classically trained pianist, admitted to her friends in Hastings that she also plays the accordion.
And she admits that is sort of a strange hobby for a 26-year-old.
“It’s one of those things that you say in that game ‘Two Truths and a Lie’ that you do at summer camp. ‘I play the accordion.’ ‘No way, I don’t believe it,’ ” she joked.
Heidtbrink, who grew up in Gresham, started her musical training at a young age when her mother enrolled her in piano lessons.
As the third of four daughters, Heidtbrink was the only one who stuck with the lessons. She found it almost therapeutic, too.
“It was a relaxing thing for me to come home and just play after a stressful day at school. It was something I could get lost in,” she said.
